Adult Briefs - Diaper Style |
|
The typical candidates for Diaper Style
Briefs are those who are bed confined and/or
non-ambulatory. It is pretty much a
necessity to have a caregiver apply the brief.
A nice feature of the design is the
ability to remove and apply a new brief without
taking pant off completely. (As you need to do
with underwear or pull-on styles) This is ideal
when checking to see if the brief is soiled to
the point of needing to be replaced.
Most adult diapers are capable of
handling total loss of bladder and bowel
control.
Popular attributes include:
-
At least two tape
tabs on each side to allow a custom fit.
-
Elastic leg
gathers for best fit and waste confinement.
-
A wetness
indicator that changes colors when moist;
provides an excellent visual when checking to
see if a change of briefs is needed.
-
Refastenable tape
tabs are of value if you need to reposition
the brief, or to temporarily unfasten it for
any reason.
-
Odor control
properties.
-
Absorbent material
in the sides, or wings. This helps to absorb
urine when sleeping on the side.

Adult
Briefs - Underwear, or Pull-Up Style |
 |
These are the newest style of adult incontinence
products.
Typical candidates for Pull-on or
Underwear Style Briefs are those who are fairly
active. They dress themselves and need moderate
to heavy protection throughout the day and/or
night.
These are a real blessing for those who need the
performance full briefs provide, and
prefer the convenience of a pull-on brief.
They are designed with a low profile, and
are capable to handle light to total loss
of bladder control, and/or most bowel movements.
Popular attributes include:
-
Wide, and comfortable waist band.
-
Elastic leg gathers for best fit and waste
confinement.
-
Odor control properties.
-
Absorbent liner where it's needed most. This
keeps bulk to a minimum.
-
Rustle free outer materials.

Adult
"Belted" Undergarments |
|
This style of
garment was introduced to the public by Depend
and June Allison. It changed the entire
industry, almost overnight.
Typical candidates for belted
Undergarments are those who are active. They
receive full target area protection without the
bulk of a diaper or relative confinement of a
pull-on brief.
Very convenient, as an extra garment can be
discretely carried in purse or in a man's
pocket.
They are designed with a very low profile,
and are capable to handle light to moderate
loss of bladder control, with light bowel
movement being easily contained.
Popular attributes include:
-
Elastic leg gathers for best fit and waste
confinement.
-
Odor control properties.
-
Large, easy to use button on elastic belt.
(Velcro fastening available)

Liners, Pads
and Male Guards |
|
 |
Better tape strips
and more absorbent and odor controlled fluff
make these best performing products ever!
For the active
person with mild loss of bladder
control, or if using the liners, to also protect
against light bowel movements.
The Male Guards are simply pads shaped for a
man's anatomy. This allows maximum control with
a very small pad.
Very discrete.
Relatively inexpensive.
