How to launder and care for your support stockings.

Keeping your support hose clean by laundering on a regular basis is the single most important thing that can be done to prolong the wearing life of compression stockings. Please remember that over time, body oil will deteriorate elastics and fabrics. For this reason it is generally acknowledged that you should always rotate two stockings, or two pair of stockings at all times, wearing one while the other is being laundered. Doing so will be increase the wearing life of each immeasurably.

Washing your support hose: Using a mild detergent, stockings should be washed in cold or lukewarm water and rinsed until the water runs clear.

After washing, the stockings should be rolled in a towel to rid then of excess water then laid flat on a towel to dry – never place in a dryer or hang on a line or hanger to dry. Dry thoroughly before wearing.

Finally, keep in mind that all oils and petroleum-based ointments are deadly to both rubber and spandex, as is prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or fluorescent light.
