T.E.D. Brand Anti-Embolism Stockings are available in "consumer packs" with closed, comfort toe and in "hospital style" with inspection toe. The differences are discussed below.

The Difference between T.E.D. Consumer and Hospital Style Stockings.

Both styles are premium grade medical stockings with features such as seamless construction and circumferential knit for proper pressure and to help prevent slippage. Target compression is 14mmHg at the ankle.

There are really 3 differences to note:

1) The hospital style has an inspection toe, or opening just below the toes. This allows easy access for medical examination. The Consumer style stockings have a closed toe for comfort.

2) The Consumer style are made with materials that wash and dry better, for longer life.

3) The Consumer style stockings are sold in a reclosable retail box. The hospital style come in a snap open plastic pouch. These plastic pouches are not reclosable and therefore, the hospital style cannot be returned for any reason once they are opened.
